UMC does not have a limit for the number of candidates in order to get as many talented candidates as possible for the sake of developing the human resources for UNIQLO in particular and the whole country in general.

My major is International Relations, also my strength is education and training as I have experience in international schools and Embassy. However, I am ended up here at UNIQLO as I recognize my enthusiasm to deliver happiness to customers and that was what Uniqlo about - to put the customer in the center of what we do and leverage the service that exceed customers' expectation. I also want to get hand-on experience in business and that opportunity can be found in this company. You can learn everything with an open mindset. Don't worry if you have no experience in retails or service industry, in business or economics. You will be well-taught because you will be one of our business leader one day. There will be ups and downs for sure but the result will be worthy of your devotion.

For this position, honestly speaking it was very challenging for me at first because I majored in Media in university. What I studied was all about doing research about films, global issues and other social problems. However, being a UMC, it was completely different. I had to act and think more like a Business Leader: dealing with numbers, being a problem solver and most difficult part is managing people. Therefore it was completely a new thing for me which I had to put into many efforts and always kept in mind the spirit of studying endlessly. It was challenging but still a good lesson I could never get from other companies. It helped me to step out of my safety zone, experience new things, get new knowledge and meet new people. And the best part in this company is there are always new opportunities for you to grow. It is only opened for people who are willingly to take and I think I am.

To be honest, UMC was very challenging for me at first because I have never experienced nor expected what it could be. Yet, with the support from all people around me and my supervisors, I grow more everyday as a business leader to become a problem solver with opportunity driven, understand and analyze figures and learn people management skill. Like I said, UMC program was such a new thing for me and it pushes me out of my comfort zone to learn new things everyday. To all future candidates reading this, even though there are many options out there, if you want to challenge yourself in the Apparel industry, UMC program is the one you shouldn't skip. I believe with the clear career path that the company offers, and many learning opportunities - you will be able to gain lots of new knowledge and become a strong business leader.

Back to 4 years ago, the reason why I applied to UNIQLO as a UMC was I would like to contribute myself and build up this brand and organization for Vietnam market. As a UMC, I could have many chances to try “new things” from serving every single customer on the actual Sales Floor to creating mid-term plan for your whole store. I could say that this position is extremely demanding and challenging but also very fun and I bet you could learn a lot, not only in retail business but how to be a professional business leader as well. In Store Operations, being a UMC then a Store Manager, you can directly communicate and observe customers' behavior, then you could review your store's performance or company plan, after that propose new idea based on your thinking in order to accelerate company's development in sales, service & staff education. This is a very exciting job because you could be able to create and see your own result right in your store.

The reason why I applied to Uniqlo was that I wanted to work in a global company with a dynamic environment. Time flies, I immerse myself in the professional environment, the passion and the very high ambitions of the company and COOs. In my opinion, UMC is a very unique and fast-track program designed for young people who want to work in a global company with a large business scale and numerous career opportunities. You can, for example, choose not only to be a Store Manager or an Area Manager, but also to advance your career in other departments such as Merchandising, Marketing, Inventory Control and HR. In terms of the number of opportunities that the company provides for its employees and UMCs, I believe there is nowhere that can compete with Uniqlo.
